We are now fully into that part of the year that is super fun. There’s lots of parties and gatherings and decorations and just getting together with people you love. This time of year also gives you an awesome excuse to be all old school* with festivities for the holidays.
*old school. Anything that is from an earlier era and looked upon with high regard or respect. Can be used to refer to music, clothing, language, or anything really.
We all decorate our porches, drag trees indoors (or use a fake one), light candles, hang mistletoe and sit by the fire. Holiday traditions have survived the transition to the digital age.
Apart from the traditional decorations, the holidays are a great time to connect with people. Call the people you love and tell them how great they are and why they are important to you. Or, call them up, pack up a thermos of something yummy to drink and take them to a park to decorate a random tree just for fun.
Adopt the Holiday Spirit! Be kind hearted and let that lady go first. Wait in line with patience. Break out of your shell and let yourself step into the full beauty that surrounds you each and every moment.
If you’d like a little help with your goodwill this season, sign up for this super cool Acts of Kindness Advent Calendar.
FYI: Two of my long-time collaborators, Nancy Cranbourne, Molly Thompson and I wrote a new show called Viva the Dreama. This 75 minute send-up pokes good fun at self-help workshops.
Our backer’s showcase is on January 5th at Fir Acres Theatre in Portland, OR. This is a perfect show to close your conference or event. It’s also perfect for that small theatre in your city. If you are an event planner, organize women’s, corporate, or self-help conferences (or know someone who does), please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, we’d love to get them some tickets to come this show.
